BIM365 provides clash detection and BIM coordination services for general contractors, MEP engineers, architects and trade contractors. We bring every trade model into one federated model, test it, and turn hundreds of raw clashes into a short list of real problems with a clear owner for each.

Coordination is run by a senior MEP BIM coordinator with 7+ years in coordination meetings on live projects, so clashes are judged by someone who knows how services are installed, not only how they look on screen. See all our BIM services.

Scope

What We Check

Hard Clashes

Ducts through beams, pipes through columns, cable trays through walls: every place two elements occupy the same space.

Clearance Clashes

Insulation, access to valves and dampers, working space in front of electrical panels and the zone below sprinkler heads.

Ceiling Voids & Risers

Crowded corridors, plant room exits and shafts, where duct, pipe, tray and sprinkler mains all fight for the same depth.

MEP vs Structure

Penetrations through slabs, beams and walls checked early, so openings and sleeves can be planned before the concrete is poured.

MEP vs Architecture

Services against ceilings, bulkheads, doors, windows and fire-rated walls, including the space needed for ceiling grids.

Coordination Meetings

Weekly clash rounds timed for your meeting, with the report ready to walk through and actions agreed with each trade.

The deliverable

What Is in Our Clash Report

Raw clash counts are useless. A report your trades can act on groups the clashes, removes duplicates and says who fixes what by when.

Item What you see
Summary Clashes per test and per level, new, active and resolved since the last round.
Grouped issues Related clashes grouped into one issue, so 40 hits on one duct run become one item to fix.
Viewpoint A saved 3D view and screenshot of each issue, with grid line and level.
Owner and priority The trade responsible, priority (critical, high, normal) and target round to close.
Suggested fix A short note on how to solve it, such as drop the pipe 150 mm or reroute the tray along grid C.
Formats PDF or HTML report, Navisworks NWD with saved viewpoints, and BCF or ACC issues if your team uses them.

How it works

Our Clash Coordination Process

  1. Model check. We check every trade model for shared coordinates, levels and missing elements before testing, so the results mean something.
  2. Clash matrix. Tests and tolerances set per trade pair, agreed with you and recorded in the BEP.
  3. Run and group. Tests run in Navisworks, false hits filtered out, real clashes grouped into issues.
  4. Report and assign. Each issue gets a viewpoint, an owner, a priority and a suggested fix.
  5. Re-test until closed. Updated models re-tested each round until every area is clear and signed off.

Try Us Before You Commit

  • Free 20-minute model review: share your models and we tell you where the problem areas are.
  • One paid pilot round: one level, one clash round, a fixed price. Judge the report before you commit.
  • Revisions until it matches: if the report does not meet the agreed scope, we fix it at no extra cost.
  • NDA before files move: we can work inside your ACC, BIM 360 or SharePoint.

What we need

To Start Coordination

  • Trade models in RVT, NWC, DWG or IFC, on shared coordinates
  • Your BEP, clash matrix or tolerances, if you have them
  • The levels or zones to coordinate first
  • Your coordination meeting day and time
  • How your team tracks issues: report, BCF or ACC

What you get

Each Round

  • Federated Navisworks model (NWD) with saved viewpoints
  • Clash report grouped by trade, level and priority
  • Progress summary: new, active and resolved issues
  • Resolved MEP model, if we also hold the MEP scope
  • A coordinated model ready for shop drawings and installation

Questions

Clash Detection Services: Common Questions

Clash detection is the process of combining the architectural, structural and MEP models into one federated model and testing it for places where elements run into each other or break a required clearance. Each clash is reviewed, grouped and assigned to the trade that should fix it, so the conflict is solved in the model instead of on site.

A hard clash is when two elements physically occupy the same space, such as a duct running through a beam. A soft or clearance clash is when an element breaks a required space around another, such as insulation thickness, maintenance access in front of a panel or the zone below a sprinkler head. We set up tests for both, with tolerances agreed in your BEP.

Both options are available. On coordination-only jobs we run the tests, group the clashes and issue the report with viewpoints for each trade to fix in their own model. If we also hold the MEP model, we resolve the MEP clashes ourselves and re-run the tests until the area is clear.

We run clash tests in Autodesk Navisworks Manage and can work in Autodesk Construction Cloud Model Coordination if your project uses it. We accept RVT, NWC, DWG and IFC models from every trade, and issue reports as PDF or HTML with viewpoints, plus BCF or ACC issues when your team tracks them that way.

During active coordination we usually run a full round once a week, timed so the report is ready before your coordination meeting. Smaller jobs or early design stages may only need a round every two weeks. The cycle is set in your BEP.

It depends on the number of models and trades, the building size and how many coordination rounds you need. We quote a fixed price per round or a monthly rate during coordination. You can start with one paid pilot round on a single level to see the report quality before committing.

Send your trade models and meeting schedule. We reply with a scope, a schedule and a fixed price per round, usually within 24 hours.
